Dave preps his evening dinner.

The next day, Dave and I decide to practice our primitive fire skills. We are each attempting to start a fire without matches. The process proves difficult and the wind isn't helping. However, it is a good reminder of why it is worth practicing. The more you do it the easier it becomes.

Today one hiker and two men on horses passed our camp along the trail. My prediction had gone down in flames; however, we never saw anyone else before reaching my car.
