Without being able to build a fire, as soon as the sunset, we all retired to our tents to keep warm. At 10,000ft, the temp drops like a rock as soon as that glowing yellow orb in the sky disappears from the sky.
The next morning with temps still below freezing, I snapped a morning photo of the lake. Our new plan was to pull out breakfast fixings and move them to the outside of our packs. We'd then hike down to 9600ft, build a fire and make a hot breakfast.
