From here the sub-dome looks massive and the trail looks like it goes straight up. The trail switchbacks through the sparse trees you see on the sub-dome. When Andra saw the trail from here, she said it looks steeper than last time (gulp). She said it looks more intimidating from this vantage point.
We could actually see a single hiker making his way up the sub-dome from here.
The peak to the left is Clouds Rest. It's hard to imagine we stood on the top of it just a couple of days ago. It seems so far away now.
