The wide angle lens gives you a different perspective. Mostly it makes the mountain look smaller and easier to climb. That's just the kind of encouraging view we needed about now.
Before hitting the cables I snapped a picture looking east up the valley. I left my day pack at the base of the cables. By the time we got back a chipmunk had successfully found my stash of dark chocolate kisses. :(
Having pulled my way to the top, I stopped to photograph Andra leveling off from the near vertical portions of the route.
