From Glacier Point, this golfer's sand trap is what remains of Mirror Lake. The lake has almost completely filled in. Thousands of years ago, the entire valley was a deep lake. That lake slowly filled in just like Mirror lake did making the valley floor.

Upper and Lower Yosemite Falls. Yes that dry stain across the valley is where Upper Yosemite Falls is supposed to be. Yosemite Creek often runs dry this time of year.
