Before we left Clouds Rest, Andra wanted to get a picture of us together. Unfortunately she still hadn't come to grips with the 5 to 6ft maximum range of her flash; however, the picture looks nice anyway. Besides, you have to admit, the blurry rock surface is nicely lit.
Earlier we had found a nice camp spot near the ice cold stream I was searching for (I like my water cold), and there was a little rock ring fire pit from a prior backpacker. Seeing some nice rock pieces laying around, my innate engineering tendencies took over. I rebuilt the cute little nearly useless ring into this. It's hard to see the scale here but the rock back is nearly two feet tall and we really enjoyed it.
Here we are enjoying the fire. Currently at 8900ft the temps weren't quite as cold as the prior night, but darn close.
