The thunder intensifies and it begins to hail. We're very glad we did not attempt Half Dome on this day. Half Dome is routinely hit by lightning during these types of thunderstorms. Not to mention how insanely slipperly the granite becomes when wet.
Andra gets a picture of me being pounded by hail as I continue to make little ones out of big ones.
After about ten minutes, the hail turned to rain and we retreated into the tent. The rain lasted less than thirty minutes. Here I am sitting next to my pile of firewood after the rain had past.
